This computer software is designed to calculate the optimum value of face support pressure for tunnels excavated by Earth Pressure Balanced (EPB) shields . Analytical and Experimental methods have been utilized to assess tunnel face support pressure against face collapse and surface blow out.

In addition to the conventional deterministic approach, a probabilistic approach, in which soil parameter values are simulated in order to reduce uncertainty, is applied. The probability of factor of safety being less than a predetermined value is calculated for proposed values of face support pressure.
